魚筌是一種捕魚的竹器，形式分為許多種，有寬有窄，有大有小，此件因有三個孔洞，所以又稱為「三口筌」，常用於捕捉淡水魚、蝦、蟹之用。使用的材料是細竹條和藤皮，由於藤皮比竹條柔軟容易彎曲不易斷裂，所以常以藤皮當緯線，絞繞於排列密集的細竹條上，而細竹條的間隙密度，和前寬後窄的漏斗形入口，都是為了使魚、蝦能進不能出的最佳設計。

 Fish trap is a fish-catching bamboo vessel. There are many types; some are wide, some are narrow, some are large, and some are small. Because it has three holes, it is also called the “Three mouth trap” and often used to catch freshwater fish, shrimp, and crabs. Thin bamboo strips and wicker are the materials that are used. Wicker is softer more flexible and less prone to rupture than bamboo; therefore it is often wrapped horizontally around densely arranged bamboo strips. The dense arrangement of bamboo strips; the funnel shaped mouth (wide in the front and narrow in the rear) is the best design for trapping fish and shrimp.
