「神轎」是在許多的廟會活動中，神明出巡繞境時所不可或缺的交通工具，神轎的種類有很多種，在材料的使用上，除了竹材外，木製的也很多，在形制上有四角形、六角形和八角形等，在工法上有簡單的及複雜的。 此座神轎以桂竹為材，主結構採用鑿洞、包管之竹管家具的製作工法完成，轎頂以竹篾斜紋編作，由於竹材中空竹肉薄，易蟲蛀或腐朽，而不易保存，因此目前所能看到的古老神轎中，木製神轎似乎比竹製神轎來得多。 The “portable shrine” is a vital transportation tool during godly inspection tours of temple festivities. There are many types. Besides bamboo, some are made of wood. They can be square, hexagonal, and octagonal in shape. The weaving styles can also be simplistic or complicated.

This portable shrine is made of makino bamboo. The drilling and piping techniques are used on the main structure. The roof is woven in twill patterns. Because bamboo is hollow, it is susceptible to bugs or rotting and proves difficult to preserve; therefore we see more wooden ones within the ancient portable shrine collection.
