　　The “Pak-Kong-River glutinous rice stone bridge” is now the rare type of bridge construction among the designated monuments in Taiwan and Fujian area. It was built on Japanese colonial period-Showa the 15th year (1940) during the WWII, which has been more than sixty years. The Japanese company Harada Group carried out the construction, Japanese engineer Mr. Asano as the commander, Changhua technician Chang Se as the supervisor, local contractors Wang Chin-lien and Li Shuang-huo handled the majority of the masonry. As the bridge is belong to a combat readiness project, the Japanese military are quite seriously, Taichung Governor also sent Mr. Yamazaki and some people to the scene as command supervisors. Its characteristics is to use the bridge stone materials locally, taken from the Po tail section mountains area at southwest suburbs of Pak Kong village, caved by hand, made a style ready, and then numbered by the cattle car loading to the scene for combination. The project was started on Showa the 15th year (1940), acted during the dry season, and completed in the next year. Since then, it has become a major shortcut to the local traffic route of the Pak-Kong Village.
　　However, following the year in 1987 the County No 21 Provincial highway expanding completed ready, and downstream new bridge built ready, stone arch bridge accomplished the mission and thus fade, no longer be the critical traffic to the track. Although the bridge was built in the Japanese occupation period, not far from this age, it should be by the lime, glutinous rice, brown sugar etc. traditional ways as the combined materials, built such four-hole stone bridge, therefore in Taiwan is rare. Coupled with the full use of local materials and construction methods, deeply with the local features.
