　　Located in Wenchang Lane, Shiguan Rd., Caotun Township, created in the 27th year of Qing Emperor Daoguang dynasty (1847), this college history has been more than one hundred and sixty years. In addition to worship Confucius, but also dedicated to Wenchang Di Chun, Guan Sheng Di Chun, Zhuyi Xing Chun, Kuidou Xing Chun, Fuyou Di Chun (Dongbin Lu) etc. five gods related to exams, those are known as Five Wenchang, hence also named: Wenchang temple. It is the three-courtyard style building, now still preserved the same style like it built at the first time, in the central main hall, besides worship the Five Wenchang but also act as the usual place for class, the on both sides is to use for students studying, the teacher called the president, living in the room, allow students to ask questions at any time. The Deng Ying College where students are to be lower level, is belong to the donated teaching type school (similar to the publicly-funded primary school).
　　The Deng Ying College is a club organized by scholars in Caotun district──"Deng Ying Club" together and local residents donated money to build. After the establishment of the Academy, where scholars organized the YuFeng Club, BiFeng Club, CuiYing Club, TiYun Club etc., donating money to buy the lands, known as the "Scholar land" rent to tenant for farming, the rent acted as a college funds. During the Japanese occupation period the "Scholar land" was donated to the Caoxiedun public school (now Caotun elementary school), this Academy from the public schools existing became declining, college functions disappeared, and thus only keep the Wenchang Shrine.
　　The Deng Ying College is different from Colleges in other places, is that its unique "Spring Festival ceremony –light up Bright Lamp" is a special ceremony to pray for the candidates. Every year, along with the advent of the test season, you can see the students to read the books in the college room, or light up Bright Lamp, to pray Wenchang Di Chun gods can lead them to pass the exam.
